Top Ten Tuesday: Unread Books on my shelf from Before I Started Blogging

top ten tuesday sig

Hey guys! Today’s top ten Tuesday topic is based on unread books on my shelf from before I started blogging. This weekly feature is as usual, hosted by the folks over at The Broke and the Bookish.

Considering I’ve only been blogging for about a year, there are plenty of books I’ve purchased prior that I still haven’t read. I feel a bit guilty, honestly, but how can you resist when you discover something interesting and you have to read that immediately? Or when there are new releases waiting to be read (Empire of Storms, still waiting). So, I present to you some books that are still unread before I started blogging!

The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings

13576132

The Murder Complex is something I think I got as a recommendation from many people, so I bought it. Honestly speaking, I don’t know if I’ll get around to this because it’s slightly out of my comfort zone. There’s a slim possibility I might read this if I’m ever in the mood to kill someone though.

Rain by Virginia Bergin

The Rain (The Rain, #1)

I’ve had this book for maybe a year and a half, and I think I saw this book on someone’s booktube. I have still yet to pick it up, mostly because I’m not really in the mood to read this ever.

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

8909152

I picked this up after I finished reading Fangirl, because the blurb sounded so interesting, but I read about a third of this and I couldn’t read the rest. It wasn’t engaging to me personally, and I couldn’t bring myself to finish reading this.

Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern

147865

I purchased this because I wanted to read the book before watching the movie. I think I’ve tried reading a couple of pages, but never really got into the book, because it wasn’t very engaging. I still want to watch the movie so I will probably give this a second chance.

Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier

12358349

This is another book I bought as a recommendation, but just haven’t quite gotten around to it yet. I honestly intend to read this, but I’ve just been bogged down by newer, more exciting books that I keep picking up.

Gathering Darkness by Morgan Rhodes

17342700

I got this because I’d heard great things from this series – it was also relatively cheap for a hardcover as well. I’ve read the first two books in this series, but I just never ended up getting around to this book for some reason.

The Emperor’s Blades by Brian Staveley

18529175

I think I picked this up because it was in the sale section of the bookstore, and it was really cheap for a hardcover! Of course I had to add it to my collection, even though I don’t know when I’ll get around to reading it.

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

1953

A Tale of Two Cities is a book I wanted to reading after discovering that the Infernal Devices series was based off this. Unfortunately, I’ve never made it past the first two pages (I blame the fact the first sentence is too long). I might give this a chance when I have time, a valued commodity which I don’t really have right now.

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

6186357

I actually got the box set around the time the first or second movie came out, so I managed to get it for pretty cheap. Despite this, I just haven’t touched it because I was too excited by other things, and I’ve just never gotten around to reading this trilogy.

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

17234658

Unlike most of the other books, I actually got this book as a present, and I really love the cover! I’ve just never picked it up and started reading, for many of the reasons I’ve listed above, but it’s mostly just because I haven’t been in the mood.

So that’s my list for today! Of course, there are many, many other books I’ve yet to read on my shelf – what I’ve mentioned is merely a small sample of my guilty TBR pile. What about you guys? What are some books you haven’t read yet?
